Many salespeople may never hear a compliment like this even after 20 years in the business, yet Ruan Qiuyue received it in less than two years.
After receiving such high praise from a customer, there’s no way I can stay low-key. Ordinary people like me should be bold in both our work and the way we conduct ourselves. Only truly great figures like Jack Ma need to stay humble.
In fact, anyone who has done business with Ruan Qiuyue would find it strange not to leave a glowing review.
This customer, Ms. Guo, makes plush toys. She found me online last May, and since then she has sourced all of her fabric labels from our factory. This time, she needed three custom-shaped fabric labels urgently and asked me to produce samples within just three days.
That almost stumped me. Custom-shaped fabric labels require laser-cutting, and this type of label represents only a small portion of our factory’s business, so the laser process has to be outsourced to a partner factory.
When a process is outsourced, it’s much harder to control the schedule than when everything is done in-house. Fortunately, the laser-processing factory is only about five minutes away from us.
By the time our fabric label samples were ready, two and a half days had already passed. It happened to be around 4 p.m., and I needed to pick up my child from school. But when you’ve promised a customer a delivery date, you have to do everything possible to meet it.
After picking up my child and taking them home, I drove another 30 minutes back to the factory. I personally delivered the samples to the laser-processing factory and handed them directly to the owner. He was moved by my dedication. As soon as the job currently on the machine was finished, he immediately arranged for my labels to be laser-cut.
Whether we’re working with suppliers or customers, sincerity should always be met with sincerity. We should approach everything with integrity and the right mindset.
In the end, the custom label samples were delivered to the customer on time. However, because Ms. Guo had only one week to complete mass production of her plush toys, the timeline was simply too tight, and she had no choice but to give up that order.
